How does it work?

The mirror neuron effect means that total immersion from a first person perspective activates the same neurons in the person viewing the activity as in the person actually doing the activity.
This effect results in better understanding and improves our ability to perform technical procedures.

I was very impressed by what Virtual Reality can offer as a pedagogical tool for training, but also how it can be used to disseminate and implement a new technique. It was very exciting to produce this VR tutorial with the Revinax team.

Surgical nurse and Revinax project head

I’m really glad today that I was a Certified Nurse’s Aide and then a Registered Nurse before specializing in surgical nursing. But I have to say, it wasn’t always easy. The sheer amount of the technical procedures and caregiving steps we had to memorize and know how to perform quickly was such that I regularly found myself working under pressure and needing to control my stress. Between observing a procedure, doing it with someone, and then doing it alone... that took a lot of time. It would have been so much simpler and faster to be able to see myself in the shoes of the person who was teaching me, the one who knew how to do the procedure and had been doing it for years! Thanks to new technologies, what wasn’t available to me a few years ago is now within reach. No need to stress over this anymore. TRAIN WITH PEACE OF MIND!

Revinax is a start-up founded 5 years ago by pediatric neurosurgeon Maxime Ros. We have created a multimedia platform that provides access to immersive tutorials anywhere, anytime. The tutorials are designed to transmit knowledge of complex and often high-risk technical procedures, such as those performed in surgery or nursing, using immersive technologies: 3D video from a first-person perspective. Through our tutorials, the learner can live the experience and learn through the eyes of the expert, in a real-life setting. Revinax combines immersive virtual reality (VR) with a first-person point of view and actual 3D images. Multiple scientific studies have demonstrated the added value of such VR training.

NEW IN 2020: Slip into the shoes of a registered nurse. We have developed the only mobile immersive training dedicated to nursing students. We provide learners with the actual experience of good nursing practice in a variety of care settings from a first-person perspective using VR immersion. From your mobile phone, you can learn, review and maintain your skills for a wide range of tutorials, created under the direction of an RN and surgical nurse. You will be able to consult the tutorials as often as you want, whenever you need to and wherever you are, to sail through your three years of training with peace of mind.
