On the 13th of October, Revinax was invited by the St. Jean Clinic of Montpellier to present virtual reality training solutions for medical professionals during an annual event by Clinique St. Jean.
The event was visited by approximately 250 medical professionals, interested in the newest surgical techniques. During the event, 10 live surgeries were displayed to share new techniques and we were present to show a new and effective way of sharing skills: immersive virtual reality tutorials.
Recently, we have been able to record an innovative surgery (a cervical laminoplasty), performed by Dr. Vassal of the St. Jean Clinic. We have edited the tutorial in close collaboration with Dr. Vassal and added additional information to the real-life 3D virtual reality tutorial, such as patient scans and a presentation displaying information related to the surgery. (Read more on how we do this here)
At the event, Dr. Ros (CEO Revinax) wore a virtual reality headset and launched the mobile application of the cervical laminoplasty. The mobile phone was connected to a laptop with the Obserever option, developed by Revinax to allow visual feedback of the students vision. Due to this, the public could see a 2D version of what Dr. Ros was experiencing, while Dr. Vassal commented on his technique.
During the event we received a lot of positive feedback on our virtual reality solution for medical training and we look forward to present it at your hospital or institute!
